  4. * After inserting the CD EXTRA in your CD-ROM drive a "UPS.exe" window
  5.   will appear.
  6. * If your computer is not set  to "Autorun" the "UPS.exe" 
  7.   dialog box will not appear. Set your computer to Autorun or click
  8.   on "UPS.exe".
  9.  
  10. Windows 3.1, Windows NT:
  11. * The "UPS.exe" isn't supported on Windows 3.1, Windows NT

  14.            Minimum Requirements

  16. * Pentium Pc compatible
  17. * 16 MB RAM 
  18. * Microsoft Windows 95
  19. * 640 x 480, 256-color (8 bit) display
  20. * double speed or faster multi-session CD-ROM drive*  
  21.   with Enhanced CD compatible firmware
  22. * 16 bit sound card

  24. * Quicktime 3.0 or higher needed in order to see videos.

  26. *If you are unsure of your CD-ROM drive's capabilities, please 
  27.  contact your hardware manufacturer to verify that your drive 
  28.  contains Enhanced CD (Blue Book/Multi-session) compatible

  33. Getting Started
  34. 1. Make sure the CD is in your CD-ROM drive before starting your 
  35.    CD EXTRA title.
  36.  
  37.  NOTE: Some machine with older versions of Windows 95 will require additional system files. 
  38.  If the CD EXTRA will not run at all, or causes system crashes, 
  39.  run the file MSVCRT.EXE included with this disk. 
  40.  It will add the necessary components for correct playback.

  43. Sound Problems
  44. 1. Is your volume turned up? Are your speakers plugged in?
  45. 2. Do you have a Sound Blaster compatible sound card that can 
  46.    handle 8-bit, 22K sound? Is it installed properly in Windows? 
  47.    Try using another piece of software to play sound within 
  48.    Windows.
  49. 3. If you have a mixing control panel, check that the levels
  50.    are not set to zero.
  51.    
  52. Video Problems
  53. 1.    You need Quicktime 3.0 to view video. The installer is 
  54.     provided in the QT3 directory. Open Setup.exe.
  55.  
  56. Online problems
  57. 1. Do you have a direct connection to the Internet via modem, T1, 
  58.    ISDN line or other?  If not, you will not be able to go online.
  59. 2. If you receive an error message when you try to go online you
  60.    may not have enough free memory available.  Make sure no other 
  61.    applications are open when you launch the Sony CD Player.

  63. Enhancing the performance of your CD EXTRA
  64. Turn off all other programs while you are running the Enhanced CD.
  65. This includes applications, clocks, screen savers and other software.

  81. 1. LICENSE; COPYRIGHT; RESTRICTIONS.  You may install and use 
  82. your copy of the Software on a single computer. You may not 
  83. network the Software or otherwise use or install it on more 
  84. than one computer or terminal at the same time. The Software 
  85. (including any images, text, photographs, animations, video, 
  86. audio, and music) is owned by Sony Music Entertainment Inc. or 
  87. its suppliers and is protected by United States copyright laws 
  88. and its international treaty provisions. You may not rent, 
  89. distribute, transfer or lease the Software. You may not reverse 
  90. engineer, disassemble, decompile or translate the Software.
  91. 2. LIMITED WARRANTY.  Sony Music Entertainment Inc. warrants 
  92. that the original Software disc[s] will perform substantially in 
  93. accordance with the accompanying printed materials for a 
  94. period of ninety (90) days from the date of purchase. Sony Music 
  95. Entertainment Inc.'s entire liability and your exclusive remedy 
  96. shall be limited only to replacement of the Software that is 
  97. determined to be defective during the warranty period. This 
  98. Limited Warranty is void if the defective Software resulted 
  99. from accident, abuse, or misapplication. Any replacement 
  100. Software will be warranted for the remainder of the original 
  101. warranty period.
  102. 3. NO OTHER WARRANTIES.  To the maximum extent permitted by 
  103. applicable law, Sony Music Entertainment Inc. disclaims all 
  104. other warranties, either express or implied, including but not 
  105. limited to implied warranties of merchantability and fitness 
  106. for a particular purpose, with respect to the Software. This 
  107. limited warranty gives you no specific legal rights. You may 
  108. have others, which vary from state/jurisdiction to 
  109. state/jurisdiction.
